about us
Fallacy Publications was established in 2009 (some day this will seem impressive, we promise) to fill the gap between traditional publishing and self-publishing.
Right now, the publishing world is being torn in two directions. Large publishers are shrinking back from economic risk (and who can blame them), whereas authors are using tools like Lulu and CreateSpace to flood the market with books of questionable merit (not to themselves, obviously.) Our goal is to work with authors who are self-starters, those who are ready to invest both time and money in their own work and, most importantly, those with a novel that we beleive in.
What we don't do is print books, pay for editors or publicity. We also don't charge.
What we do is help authors make better books by linking them with good editors, designers, and publicists. A good staff makes a good book, and getting a good staff isn't merely a matter of throwing money around. When we get behind a book, we work to find the right people and to convince them to get involved. It's for this reason that we don't offer services ala carte, and that we only work with books we think have potential. We don't force people on anyone, and we don't take a cut of the money paid to designers and editors.
We only make money on the books that we help sell.
